1. Scope of the service
Virtual Clinic is a browser-based educational tool that extracts text from medical documents locally on your device and lets you discuss that text with an artificial-intelligence language model. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, free of charge, with no guarantee of availability, continuity or fitness for any particular purpose.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be a healthcare professional, a student or educator in a health discipline, or another person using the platform for legitimate educational purposes.
- You must have authority to process any document you analyse, including any employer or institutional approval required.
3. Not a medical device — accepted limitation
You expressly acknowledge that Virtual Clinic is not a certified medical device, is not CE-marked under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, and must never be used for diagnosis, treatment, triage, prescribing or any other clinical decision. The full Medical Disclaimer is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
4. Permitted and prohibited use
You may use Virtual Clinic to study, summarise and structure medical documentation. You must not:
- upload documents you are not lawfully entitled to process;
- submit directly identifying patient data where pseudonymisation is reasonably possible;
- present platform output to a patient as professional medical advice, or incorporate it unverified into a medical record;
- attempt to reverse engineer, overload, scrape, or circumvent any security or rate-limiting control;
- use the platform for unlawful purposes, or to generate content that is harmful, discriminatory or deceptive.
5. Local storage of your data
Case titles, conversation history and your consent record are written to your browser's localStorage on this device. We do not operate a user database and cannot access, restore, export or delete your local data on your behalf. Clearing site data, using a different browser or device, or using the "Wipe all local data" control will permanently remove it. See the Cookie Policy and Privacy Notice.
6. AI processing
To generate an answer, the text you attach and your messages are transmitted over an encrypted connection to a third-party AI model provider through our server function. That transmission is transient: we store no copy. Outputs are probabilistic and may be inaccurate; you are solely responsible for verifying them.
7. Intellectual property
The platform, its design system, source code and branding remain our property or that of our licensors. You retain all rights in the documents you process. Subject to applicable law, you may use the generated output for your own educational and professional purposes; the output is provided without warranty of originality or accuracy.
8. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice. We may update these Terms; the version and date at the top of this page identify the current release, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes reset the consent banner.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any clinical harm, loss of data, loss of profits or loss of goodwill arising from your use of the platform. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights of consumers under mandatory national provisions.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, damages and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful processing of personal data, or your reliance on platform output in a clinical setting.
12. Termination
You may stop using the platform at any time; declining the consent banner ends your access immediately. We may restrict access where use breaches these Terms or threatens platform integrity.
13. Governing law and severability
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and, where applicable, the member state in which the operator is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. If any provision is held invalid, the remainder stays in force.
